Every Voice Coalition
The Every Voice Coalition is a student-led organization focused on preventing sexual violence and supporting survivors on college campuses. It advocates for policy changes, educates communities, and promotes resources to create safer educational environments. The coalition works with students, survivors, and allies to enact legislation and raise awareness about issues of sexual assault and harassment.
Who: Higher education students looking to make change in their respective areas of study, specifically those who want to put an end to sexual harassment and violence on college campuses.
What: Social media outreach to promote EVC’s mission and values, as many college aged students are on Instagram and furthermore use the platform for both information seeking purposes and to feel a sense of community with others.
Why: Fundraising and outreach allow for more states to create their own chapters as teamwork and group advocacy will create change and awareness. As the mission itself is complex and varies by individual states and their respective higher education institutions, using social media is a strong platform for this mission to reach others.
How: A series of Illinois-centered social media posts on Instagram following EVC’s guidelines and keeping core values in mind while sharing information on multiple topics. Included are a few graphics using Adobe Express that have been shared to Every Voice Coalition’s Illinois chapter social media accounts, and the social media accounts of the national organization.
